About The Hilliard Area Garden Club
The Hilliard Area Garden Club’s Mission is to be a source of gardening information, Fellowship and Service for the Hilliard Area.
The Club is a group of approximately 40 men and women of all ages who meet at 7 PM on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at the Hilliard Community/Senior Center most of the year, with some special meetings at club members gardens.

From September through April we recruit outside experts on gardening related topics. Members have a say in what topics should be covered. Want to know about something? Let us know. The following are member suggested topics:

Past Presentations have included: “Garden Goofs” presented by Tom McNutt, Burpee Bulb Workshop, Ohio Herb Gardening, Pruning & Storm Damage, Insects \and Integrated Pest Management, gypsum moths and the Ash Borer, Ponds, Bonsai, Day Lilies, Soil, Lawn Care, Choosing plant for Container Gardening, and Hypertufa Workshop.
Club members share and trade plants, seeds and bulbs twice a year – Seed Exchange in March and Perennial Exchange in September. The Club presently has one fundraiser –selling high quality plants from local wholesaler (orders are due end of March.)
Hillard Area Garden Club participates in Seeds for Friendship where seed are collected and donated to 3rd World Countries. Members participate in two Local Community Service Projects. Assembly of the City of Hilliard Hanging Baskets and the Landscape Design Contest are done annually.
In the Summer months June-Aug meeting are held at a club members home where the hosts can show and share there gardening talents. The Annual Potluck has recently been combined with a prepotluck 5 garden tour of club members’ home. A Fieldtrip is usually planned in June. Last years’ trip was to an Antique Rose farm; Foxhead Farms and in 2004 Popular Creek Perennials for a Daylily trip.
